I’m pretty sure there’s no way around it

To create value, you need to convince someone to change.

To convince someone to change, they need to trust you.

To get someone to trust you, you need to trust them first.

To trust someone first, you need to make yourself vulnerable.

Ergo:

Vulnerability is required for value creation.
